On 26 October 2007, the Board of Directors of EFG Eurobank Ergasias S.A. appointed Mr. Michael Colakides to the Board with effect from 1 November 2007. As Deputy Chief Executive Officer, Mr. Michael Colakides will replace Mr. Harry Kyrkos who has resigned after a long and fruitful contribution, for which the Board is thankful.
Michael Colakides, born in 1954, has a B.Sc. degree in Economics from the London School of Economics and an MBA from the London Business School.
He joins us from the Bank of Piraeus Group, where he worked from November 2000 up to September 2007, as Vice Chairman and Managing Director of the parent bank. His duties included the supervision of the International Banking Division, Finance Division, Investment and Corporate Banking Division, Treasury and Wealth Management, as well as the supervision of several group subsidiaries in Greece and abroad. Previously, he worked for the Titan Cement Group (1994-2000), as CFO and member of the Board of Directors with operational responsibility for subsidiaries and activities of the Group in Southeast Europe. Furthermore, he worked for the National Bank of Greece Group where he was appointed Vice Chairman in 1993 and for Citibank Greece (1979-1993) where he started his banking career.
