Announcement

Following the acceptance by the Hellenic Republic, of Mr. Damianos Damianos’s resignation from the position of the Greek State’s representative, the Ministry of Economy announced on 17 June 2010, that Professor Dimitrios Georgoutsos will undertake the position of the Greek State’s representative to the Board of Directors of the Bank EFG Eurobank Ergasias S.A., within the context of the Greek Economy Liquidity Support Program (L. 3723/2008).
At its meeting of 18 June 2010, the Board of Directors appointed Professor D. Georgoutsos as an additional member for the position of the Greek State’s representative in accordance with L.3723/2008.
Moreover, Messrs Lazaros Efraimoglou, Vice Chairman for the last ten years and Antonios Bibas, Non Executive Director of the Bank’s Board of Directors for the last ten years, announced their decision not to be nominated for re- election, upon completion of the current term of the Board, at the forthcoming Annual General Meeting.
Mr L. Efraimoglou is one of the founders and has served as Vice President of Ergasias Bank, a position which he maintained after the merger of Ergasias Bank with Eurobank EFG and as President and Honorary President of Ergo Investment SA.
Mr A. Bibas, has had an active role for 55 years in the Greek banking sector, having served as General Manager, Chairman and Managing Director of Ergasias Bank.
With their knowledge and experience, Messrs. L. Efraimoglou and A. Bibas contributed significantly to the smooth integration of Ergasias Bank and Eurobank EFG as well as to the success of our Group.  The Bank would like to express to the withdrawing members of the Board its warmest appreciation for their long-lasting and valuable contribution to the Bank's growth and progress.
At the forthcoming Annual General Meeting that will take place on 25 June 2010, Messrs Athanassios J. Martinos and Dimitrios Th. Papalexopoulos will be nominated for appointment in the place of the withdrawing members.
Mr Athanassios Martinos is the Managing Director of one of the most successful companies managing seagoing vessels, the Eastern Mediterranean Maritime Limited, which holds a large fleet of oil tankers and cargo ships. He has a dynamic presence in the ship-owners community while he demonstrates considerable social responsibility activity.
He studied Shipping in London (1968-69) and holds a BSc in Economics of the University of Athens (1974).
Mr Dimitrios Papalexopoulos is the Managing Director of Titan Cement Company since 1996 where he has worked since 1991 having occupied many financial posts. In the past, he has worked as a consultant for McKinsey & Company in the USA and Germany.

He serves on the Board of the Hellenic Harvard Foundation, the Federation of Hellenic Enterprises, the Foundation for Economic and Industrial Research, the Athens Laboratory of Business Administration (ALBA) and the Hellenic- American Educational Foundation.

He holds a degree in Electrical Engineer (Dipl. EL-Ing. ETH, 1985) from the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology and an MBA from Harvard Business School, USA (1987).
